Carbon Plus

Swinton Estate supplies Carbon Credits to businesses and individuals looking to decarbonise through a credible voluntary pathway. Our approach goes beyond simple offsetting – the ‘plus’ in our carbon comes from delivering real environmental improvement alongside carbon capture.

Our projects support richer biodiversity, cleaner water, healthier soils and natural flood management, while reducing fertiliser and pesticide use and improving wellbeing. Through the Nourish Partnership, investors can also take part in Environment Forum days and Carbon Literacy training, giving teams the chance to visit projects and see the impact first-hand.

All carbon credits are independently verified, with additional monitoring applied across every Carbon Plus project for full transparency and trust.

Peatland Carbon Plus

This four-year project was completed in 2020. An extensive tract of peatland on Masham Moor has been restored, bringing it back to life and creating a carbon sink. This project delivers 17,000 tonnes of carbon capture (CO2e) per annum. Further details on the measures taken to achieve this are at our Peatland Restoration page.

Woodland Carbon Plus

The Sole Beck, Stonefold and Hilltop multifunctional woodland project will sequester 10,000 tonnes of carbon (CO2e) over 70 years. For further details on the planting programme and anticipated environmental benefits please visit our Woodland Creation page.
