Members of the Swinton Estate team visited the H.Dawson HQ in Salts Mill for an insightful look into the heritage and craftsmanship behind their operations.
The visit explored the company’s history, alongside an introduction to The Woolkeepers – their dedicated initiative supporting British wool growers in meeting compliance standards while championing a transition towards more regenerative farming practices.
The team observed the process of hand-sorting and selection of raw wool, followed by a demonstration of how products are developed, and the crafting process from start to finish, including specialist cleansing, which all happens locally in the north of England.
With a shared commitment to sustainability and provenance, we are now exploring opportunities to work together across the Swinton Estate – ensuring farmers receive a fairer price for their wool, while incorporating it into high-quality bedding for our guest rooms.
